Webmaster's Note: I do NOT recommend buying any electronics from planet3000.com (also doing business as buyundercost.com, MindLogic, Code Free DVD, Planet Omni & Teak Furnishings). These companies pop up a lot when searching the web for multisystem vcrs. Planet3000 sold me $1,000 of faulty electronics, then gave me the runaround and lied to the BBB about it. The equipment was only replaced after much effort and dealing with the items manufacturer.
On a nicer note...DVD players by Coby and JWin are VERY easily hackable. They aren't fancy brand names or expensive, but they get good reviews from those looking for easy ways to play any region DVD.
(To hack your DVD player to play all regions/PAL/NTSC)
By Googling, you can find out pretty easily if your DVD player can be hacked to become region free. Hacking is easy as long as you follow all instructions. But please remember that there is risk involved!
If you're looking for programs to make your PC DVD drive region free, DVD Genie is a particularly good program for older drives, and DVD Region+CSS Free is good for newer drives.

Most new European and Australian vcrs will play NTSC format video tapes, so check your instruction booklet first before you spend any money getting tapes converted!
